Agree.

I have no problem with wearing jeans and a t-shirt to church, but the miniskirt is NOT going to fly.

I wouldn't think only with it being confined to a church. I honestly think you should anything really skimpy anywhere except around the house, in your own privacy.

I never really got the whole 'dress like you're going to a high-class dinner' attire for church (my dad and his wife used to make me gel my hair and make me wear jeans and a polo shirt when I went to church, which I thought was really stupid.). It just seemed such a work ethic. Such clothes could be saved more important events, like weddings or weekly dinners at Chili's.

I always thought just something you would wear to school would be just fine. Its not that revealing (it shouldn't be anyway.), but it doesn't get so stuffy, you're roasting for the rest of the service (that's why I could never understand how any pastor could wear a full robe during service without sweating at all.). T-shirt, shorts, you're good.

A mini-skirt and tank-top/tube top has its limitations. A mini-skirt that is too short is not good for anywhere, unless you're a hooker working nights. If you're going to wear a tube top, make sure it doesn't show too much cleavage, a little bit is fine. Tank tops I feel shouldn't be spaghetti-strapped. I don't think ANY boy (gay people included) would wear shorts as short as their underwear. That's just creepy.

That depends mostly on what type of place of worship. For instance, In the more strict Mosques, women are required to wear a head covering. In a Jewish synagogue most people will refrain from wearing trashy clothes, and most women will cover their hair. In a non-denominational setting any clothing is acceptable but decent clothing should be worn. If immodest dress would offend anyone in your place of worship (especially the leader) it should be avoided-if immodest clothing is the norm than why not?

One should dress modestly while visiting a place to worship because it is not considered a place to "be seen," but a place to worship.

.Well Christians and church should not come across as snooty but a good point is this. It is a place of worship and I don't think wearing something that draws attention to yourself is helping worship. It's suppose to be about God not us and what we are wearing. On the other hand, expecting everyone to wear suits and ties is bogus also. Be comfortable, just don't put on a dress pageant.

I wholeheartedly agree that people going to a place of worship ought to show respect and reverence by dressing modestly. Further, they should wear the best they have, commonly called, "Sunday best."

Tuxedos and formal dinner wear is not construed to mean "Sunday best."

I agree with you , If your going into the house of God, being a church or what not then it's appropriate you wear somthing that isn't too revealing, no mini skirts and low cut tops, if they must wear low cut top then put on a cardigan with the button up then take it off when you leave.

It depends on the particular faith group -- you should dress appropriately for the group you are attending.
