Alpha Male, I do pray for our troops on a daily basis. I pray for you as well.
Remember though, you must pray for yourself and your fellow soldiers as well. Don't just ask us to pray for you. You must follow your own advice and pray as well.
I pray for our leaders. I want them to have proper guidance in regards to this war.
So I will continue to pray for you and all those over there risking their lives for this war.

Kurds. The Kurds have been launching assaults - some could say terrorism- at Turkey for years if no longer an prolonged time. The Kurds prefer to reform Kurdistan, their historic usa which straddles the two Turkey and northerly Iraq. The Turks are ineffective set against it and the two have been warring for a minimum of two an prolonged time. Now with the Kurds freed from Saddam's terror, they are in a position to concentration their efforts on recreating Kurdistan. to evade this, the Turks are arranged and fully able to invading Northern Iraq to quash Kurdish objectives...and get some rather worthwhile oil fields. regrettably-this places the U. S. in undesirable place. the two the Turks and the Kurds are allies. Turkey has an prolonged history of secular professional-west Islam and a common affinity for us. The Kurds have been rather necessary in OIF and in counter-terror events in Northern Iraq (ever ask your self why AQ has no real foothold up there? Thank the Kurds for that). So what occurs if Turkeys invades? Who can we help? can we intrude against a stable reasonable Muslim best chum (we've so few presently)? can we in essence betray the Kurds? How do you think of that would desire to play in center East media - we lose the two way. to no longer point out if capturing between US and Turk forces commences. What could that mean for NATO (Turkey is a member)? can we sustain a three front conflict? 2 is proving stressful sufficient presently...and the Turks can combat (basically ask the German military). no longer a stable place for the U. S.. And US international relatives is a shaggy dog tale the previous 6 years so this do no longer seem to stable.

I think Alpha Male has a point (OMG...did I just say that?). BUT...I also think it's a bit over the top to really believe that Turkey would cut us off of the boarder because of Congress giving them a diplomatic slap on the wrist. It's all politics. Turkey doesn't want us to acknowledge it, so they make threats. But, at the same time, they want our help keeping the Kurds in control and they long for international legitimacy. As part of that, they long to be part of the European Union. I think it is paranoid to actually trust that Turkey will cut off the boarder. I also think Bush could do more to speak out at this time against the genocide. He called it genocide before and he should do it again. But, I honestly don't think that Turkey cuts us off due to this. It's just threats. They need us to much at this point in their history to turn their back on us.
Further, Alpha Male, if Bush et al had done this invasion properly, the troops would and should already have all the armor they need. Why is it five years into this war, they are still lacking the proper equipment? That is a true disgrace to the folks who are fighting over there.

Look, I'm just going to say this and everyone on here who is talking about the Turks and Kurds can either take it or leave.
90% of new vehicles that are designed to protect American Troops from roadside bombs and EFPs are going to be flown in through Turkey so they can get to us quicker.
If you all want to sit home and complain and debate and moan and argue about the Ottoman Empire killing a bunch of Armanians, that's all fine and dandy. But when Congress is doing something that they know in advance will delay those LIFE SAVING VEHICLES from getting to us, the blood of every Soldier that dies in thos extra days is squarely on their hands.
This legislation does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but hurt the troops. NOTHING.
So go about your happy lives, talk to your friends, go to the movies, grab a beer at your local bar afterwards; I'll be over here hoping that a bomb doesn't kill me because I'm not riding in a vehicle that's designed to save my life, just because some congressman wanted to chide a strategic ally for something that we all know took place over 90 years ago.
And these people "Support the Troops."
Pray for us all.

We don't want them ivading because we have the brains to understand that it doesn't help matters. The last thing we need is yet another hostile force in Iraq.

No, I don't believe so.
As for verbal assaults, I believe we could find evidence on both left and right that this occurred.
