Stalin or Hitler? I think Stalin, at least Hitler was sane at one point in time, I don't think Stalin ever was.

And he actually improved Germany with architecture and economical strength, until he decided to think, "Hey, maybe we should kill off millions of Jews," then Germany lost a lot of its intellectuals.

Did Stalin do anything that could be considered good?

Well, I guess we can all agree they were nutty and paranoid in the end.

I consider them both pretty evil. Consider this, Stalin's mass killings were mostly before WW II (100,000 a year), and mostly from his purges and 'collectivization in early 30's with the latest estimate of around 20-30 million dead. His genocide wasn't a full time occupation to his death, unlike Hitler, but that's where the comparison stops.

When comparing the two, both were evil, both put people in concentration camps, both committed genocide, both were dictators, both...well you get the picture. The one factor Hitler had over Stalin tho, Hitler was insane. Stalin was just angry and distrustful.

Other things to consider,Stalin killed more people, Hitler started WW II, Hitler killed the Jews and some people in his nation, but he started the war that resulted in many troops dying on both sides. Hitler may be considered the greater of both evils; tho Stalin killed more people it is said, Hitler's action ensured that those loses were as high as possible.

It is my conclusion that Hitler may be the 'evil-er" of them all, but comparing the them is ludicrous, now that i think about it, so just forget about it!

Stalin did take a country just emerging from the middle ages, helped lead it to victory against an enemy who wanted to wipe out its people, and left it as one of the two most powerful nations on earth. He was an evil man, possibly as evil as Hitler, but he clearly accomplished far more for the people he ruled than Hitler did.

What little I know about Stalin would not allow me to compare him with Hitler. So I must ask you to click on the source link I posted below for someone else's opinion.

Stalin was a, bank robber, rapist, thug , murderer and that was before he took power, he was a spy of the ( Okrana) Czar's secret police, he went to school to be priest, after he took power he was responsible for at least 35 million deaths. 15 million were starved to death in the terror famine, then the purges, and deportations then as ally of Hitler, then against Hitler, until his death in 1953 he ruled with cold blood.

stalin was a murder.....who sent tens of millions to their graves with his own signiture, where as Hitler and his disorganized government could not indite or find blame that it was infact Hitler or another person in office who had authorised the holocost. We still have no idea just how many men died.
