It doesn't surprise me that South Florida is #2 on the BCS rankings, as that system is very decieving as it discounts strength of schedule and has no regard for margin of victory. On other, more accurate listings, South Florida is as low as #6 (BGS Ratings), which is where they should be. That said, should the Bulls run the table and finish as one of two undefeated teams, they should be entitled to a championship berth.
It's actually very refreshing to see a school like South Florida get a legitimate shot after seeing programs like Boise State and Marshall get snubbed in recent years. However, I still believe the old guard will have something to say about that and try sneek in some 1 or 2 loss program (Michigan? USC?), like they did with Nebraska a few years ago.

USF is a really good team but they have a tough road ahead of them playing against Rutgers, UConn, Cincinnati, and Louisville. The Big East is one tough football conference this year.
USF deserves to be #1 not Ohio State.

I think they're a very good football team (the computers have it right), albeit not very deep with talent. A big injury to key components on O or D could send their season to a halt very quickly. This will be the big question mark as they enter the back half of their season.

Good, but not the #2 team in the country.
Sorry, but the dream ends Thursday night in the thriving megalopolis of Piscataway, New Jersey.

They are a really good team. They still have the meat of their schedule left, so we will see, just like with OSU. If either one runs the table, they deserve to be in the championship game.

USF is the best second-tier football team in the country. Even if they play in the Big East, they're not in a big-time league. Only other decent teams in that league are WVU and Rutgers and they are second-tier teams too. But give credit where it is due...they're the best of the rest.
