okay so there's this girl at my school, and me and her have been on and off again friends cos basically sometimes i can't stand her costant gossiping (and mostly its about me.)
normally i put up with her, smooth things over and stuff it down deep, but this is the LAST FREAKING STRAW.
she told everyone in the school (AGAIN) that i liked some guy i don't even know. turns out he has a girlfriend, so now i have ms. catty on my back constantly stalking me to make sure i'm not stealing her man. i'm trying to witness to this one girl who's new, and basically it's like this is making me look horrible. this combined with all the other things she's said about me, makes me look like a ttl slut. as a super-duper-plus-plus, she says it RIGHT in front of the guy i actually DO like, and he hasn't talked to me since. idk what to do with her!

You are this girl's prime source of amusement. You need to call her out on the carpet. Tell her that you don't need "friends" like her attempting to amuse themselves by horning in on your social life. If you need a matchmaker you will go to a professional. Tell her to just forget she knows you (she doesn't) and quit talking about you, or you will consider starting some really interesting rumors about her that actually have some truth backing them up.
Listen... you need to get a little something down. There are FRIENDS and there are ACQUAINTANCES... even within family groups.
Acquaintances only call you when they want something... bring a present to a birthday party, or come when they call. These people are "users" at best. They typically don't care about you or anything going on in your life. You always wonder where you stand with these people until you put 2 + 2 together.
Real friends are different. They are there for you, usually share common interests, offer a shoulder to cry on, cheer you on, and want the best for you.
At some point, you need to evaluate each relationship and ask, "What does this person bring to the table?" Is this person a mooch? A user? A manipulator? A drama-queen? A time-waster? Or is this person your cheering section? Provide insight? Make you laugh?
As you go down the list of traits and how each thing makes you feel, you will know who you should be spending more time with. That alone will make your life better.

try this instead of getting mad at the girl,let it be known that you really feel sorry for her that she has to tell rumors about you and that its a shame,but you do feel bad for her.MAKE sure you are sincere about this,do not be sarcastic and stop getting mad at her from now on.at all,this will make her look really bad and you look good.besides who cares if she spreads rumors,if you know that you didnt do anything,then you have nothing to worry about,youre true friends will stick with you .and by the way,make sure you tell your friends that you feel bad for her too (dont let anyone know your true feelings except maybe your parents) she will eventually realize she cant get to you,will get bored and find something more constructive to do.

This girl's a total b****- looks like she's jealous of you- stay away from her and make sure the public knows you are staying away from her. she might retort back with nasty rumors in the beginning, but when people see she's not in your close friends list, her credibility will go down.

I think that you should just tell her the truth and explain to her that all this talking crap about people has to stop. And if she really values your friendship with you then she'll take your advice and stop, but if not then maybe you guys shouldn't be friends. I hope everything turns out ok.

You don't know what to do with her? Drop her like a hot potato!! She is not talking to you.......look at it like this she is doing you a big favour. Confront her about the rumours and then don't deal with her again. She is not a friend!!!

i would slowly put her on hold and stop going around with her as friend and leave her alone you don' need someone like that its horrible if you know she can't keep secrets and then tells them shes not a friend. take care.
