If any kind of service is rendered then yes a tip is appropriate if the service was good. Usually they bring you drinks or hot rolls or bread.

Yes, you are still expected to tip. The person that picks up your dirty dishes and refills your water is likely getting a very low pay per hour and depends on the tips by providing good service. They don't make minimum wage. There is some restaurant pay that is something like $2.25 per hour.

If someone attended your table (even for drinks and refills), yes a tip is expected. A tip is never required at any eating establishment, just expected for good service.

I usually tip $2 bucks. They still get paid crappy and depend on the tips. They especially should get one if they are serving you any type of drink.

if someone comes around while you're at your atble to clear used plates and to refill your drinks, than a tip should be left. if you clean all plates yourself and get you own refills, then no

A small tip, yes. At least a dollar a person, if they are pleasant and efficient.

I do leave a tip for the people who have to clean up.
