My husband is a very tough man and this is a very sensitive issue for him. He hasn't have a solid stool for about a month. I do not know what caused it, we eat the same food.
He tries to hide it from everyone, but he suffers a lot. It gets to the point that he has to go to the bathroom about 8 times a day. He needs to seek professional help. When I try to talk to him, he does not want to hear about it. How to approach it? What are the home remedies for this problem if any?

well ...don't tell him but put some benefibre in his food( or any colourless fiber)....tht should make him go to the washroom few times....if even adding lottsa extra fiber doesn't help then a trip to the doctor is necessary...although it's normal to have bowel moments after every meal....if he usually doesnt do it after every meal then this could be a problem.

He really should see a doctor about something that has gone on this long. This could be the symptom of something entirely different. My guess is he's in denial. He probably has an idea that it could be something serious and he's afraid to find out. How long has it been since he's had a physical? Maybe you can talk him into just going for a physical and during the course of the physical, he may feel better about opening up to the doctor. If he doesn't already have a regular doctor, ask around among your friends to see who their husbands go to. My husband recently switched doctors to someone he really likes and now he doesn't hesitate to go see him when something is wrong. Good luck! I know how stubborn guys can be when it comes to doctors!

If this has been going on for about a month, the time for home remedies is long past. He has to swallow his pride and get professional help as it could be something quite serious.

If he does not have bleeding or fever it is not likely to be serious, but it is likely to be curable. You can't make him go to the doctor. Maybe you can throw him onto the bed and have your way with him, then when he is nice and relaxed, say, "Honey, it would make me feel better if you got this checked out." Reassure him that the doctor has seen more bottoms than your husband has had hot lunches, and that if the doctor sees something new he will snip it off.

I do the same thing and have been told that I have irritable bowel syndrome, I had a colon test. Sometimes I take 4 Imodium at a a time. Just start feeding them to him. It could be something else to do with the bowels, like polyps and that could turn into cancer. I wish you could get him to realize he is messing with his life and yours.

Have him try eating a couple apples a day. Apples help to normalize the bowels.

Tell him to get over it and go get checked. It could be the sign of something else going on inside, possibly something bad

He needs to go to a doctor.

He can be tough and dead or he can be a real man and take care of himself and by extension his family.
