By "dance thing" I assume you are referring to grand entry/opening ceremony of a powwow?

Uh, even if they belong to 'sovereign Nations' they are still Americans and many still will fight to protect this land, the whole land, and it's people including us.

Know of a Lakota guy in the military who's leaving end of this week for the middle east. My parent's age even, he went back in by his own choosing. Why shouldn't he include the American flag?

I have no idea where you get #2 from. Racists exist in any and all forms, so even if you saw something to actually think this...lets not generalize, huh?

#3, yes of course they can. If it's open to the public then anyone is welcome unless they can't behave.

Well who the heck cares what you saw on U-Tube anyway??

First of all, we have earned the right to fly the "American" flag at our "events". Native Americans have always supported our country through military service. Per capita Native Americans have the highest percentage of veterans and active military of any ethnic group. We honor our veterans at every Pow Wow, the veterans always dance first and bless the dance circle. We honor our military men and women, they are held in very high regard.

Second we don't hate "African-Americans".

Third, anyone is welcome to a Pow Wow, and we encourage everyone to come.

Indians have always honored their veterans, ever since they were fighting for their lands against the encroaching white. Indians have the highest percentage of volunteer of any ethnic group in all the wars since WWI. Two of my uncles fought in WWII and the Korean War, a cousin in the Vietnam War and another cousin in the Gulf War. Whenever someone from our tribe goes off to war, they're given a special honor and when they return, its the same.

At every Pow-Wow, the veterans are always given the place of honor. Many have died for that flag in all the US wars in the last century.
