The Work Release Program is a sentencing alternative that allows offenders to maintain employment while serving a sentence imposed by the court. Commonly, these sentenced offenders are non-violent and have demonstrated the ability to function within society while remaining under the supervision of the correctional staff.

The benefits of this program allow offenders to receive extensive counseling, continue employment, and complete their required sentence at the same time.

It also might help Phyllis get away from Jana for awhile!

She could be placed on Work Release,
and after awhile get Home Monitoring.
Then she would live at home, wear an ankle bracelet, go to work, classes, and
appointments when scheduled.

Work release is a privaledge that that non-violent prisoner's can earn. It allows them a chance to get a job and make money for restitution. That is what Phyllis will get on the Y&R however, she will still be a prisoner and will spend her nights at the prison.
