How do I select more than one area with the magic wand tool in Adobe Photoshop?

I want to select 3 or 4 areas and copy them. I have adobe photoshop 6.0. Is there a way to use the magic wand tool or Do I have to start all over? By the way, 1st correct answer gets 10 points. GO!

Hold down the SHIFT key while you are clicking, and you should be able to select multiple times.
