To all those people who say, just give them some land. It's easy to give away someone else's land, how willing are you to give up some of the US?

The Kurds. And you're wrong in my opinion, that they are both loser countries. The Kurds, yes; but the Turks, no.

And besides, Turkey is a country, but the Kurds are part of Iraq, mainly. There use to be a Kurdistan centuries ago, but no longer.

The Ottoman empire which was centered in modern day Turkey, was for centuries one of the world's greatest empires in all respects: militarily, politically and economically. The two cultures were in no way comparable.

I feel great sympathy for the Kurds, and whatever the outcome in Iraq, I hope the Kurds will at long last have a nation-state of their own.

Lets differentiate between Kurds and the PKK. The PKK have murdered thousands of innocent civilians, just like the Iraqi insurgent terrorists have.
The PKK are demanding that Turkey give them a huge chunk of their southern border area or the attacks and killings will continue.
I've been to southern Turkey several times. I have no sympathy for them, since they have northern Iraq to live in, no questions asked.
The Turks, if given the green light, can and will wipe the terrorists out.

Let the Kurds have their own society. However, they had better get their act together and do something about the PKK or the turks and US will do it for them. If they cannot control and take care of the PKK then they dont deserve recognition.

I would like to see something good happen for the Kurds; they have suffered a great deal. At least the Turks have their own country.
