Yes. Women's Lib. has been here. we were supposed to get equal rights. That includes being able to fight for our country if we choose.

I think at this point, a better question would be, should women also be drafted? As for combat, sure, why not. Women can shoot guns too, granted, there are a lot of ethical and sociological issues to look at, but, I don't see why not, some women need to blow stuff up too.

Generally, physically, and psychologically, men are better suited for combat, but I definately wouldn't disallow women from being in combat, if they so want to be in combat. The ones who are in combat, generally are the ones who have the qualities needed for such a thing.

First of all, I don't like militarism so I certainly don't believe that people should be 'drafted' ('conscripted' we say in Brit). In an earlier life I was with the Ministry of Labour and National Service - we were the functionaries responsible for tracking down and identifying conscription-eligible men. Thankfully conscription and national service are now things of the past.

Women should be able to sign up if they really want to but it can create some anomalies because soldiers have to look out for each other and a mixed soldiery can create complications.

No. Women aren't meant to fight in war. They don't have the ability to withstand long grueling hours of training and miles of walking across desert and foreign lands. Plus most women complain if they break a fingernail or don't have makeup or can't take a shower. That would slow the unit the woman was in down and cause the unit to be more vulnerable. Plus women aren't strong at all they are weak and need protection.

They at least need to know how to fight. Women are often put into positions where they are near the front lines. That means they can be attacked at any time and they shouldn't be sitting ducks.

Yep, just like men, women who meet the requirements should be required to fight in combat. Women don't need to be protected or given special exemptions. I'd prefer no one was in combat, and no one was dying, but if men have to fight and die for our country, so should women.

Only the women who are able and willing, and there are women like that out there. No one segment of the population should be barred from anything.

Yes; only if they chose to be. It should not be forced upon them. All people regardless of gender should have that choice to make that decision for themselves. I don't believe in war personally but I believe in letting others decide for themselves. If someone joins the army or military they should not have to go to combat unless they so chose.

yes, everyone deserves equal rights. People think women aren't as strong physically and this is why people think they shouldn't.
otthers go by sterotypes about women and pmsing and think that will make them not suitable for combat.

Yes let them be culled first. Rush them into battle in large numbers. This will tire the enemy for the men to come into battle and wipe the enemy out.

They dont need to know how to fight, they just need to be in large numbers to tire the enemy, over whelm them. That would be a perfect if they drafted feminazis first.

sure, if they want.
i don't think *anyone* should be forced to fight (ie, drafted)

(oh, and some women could pack out an injured soldier, i've seen a woman scoop up a badly injured 200 lb person in her arms & run 100 yards, up some steps, and into her house with him. it was totally unbelievable! she was a big girl herself, but still!)
