Good suggestion on the white vinegar and hot water. Newspaper wet down as well. Then baking soda. That will work when you get the majority of the odor out. I wonder what was in there too.....My Husband just told me that if the power had gone out in that place and the meat rotted in the freezer, the stench will permeate the plastic and it won't come out....Good Luck...try the vinegar, maybe washing with bleach too.

Um.....usually im not a smart *** but damn just clean it. Unplug it, defrost the freezer and clean it. You dont need any special cleaners. They dont sell fridge cleaner. Just soap and warm water. Use coolers with ice to keep your food cold. You might want to clean your fridge a day before you go the grocery store. Unplug the fridge, take the food out into coolers with ice, and leave the doors open over night. Had to do this in the Marine Corps every month once the freezer built up with enough frost. We would fail inspection if this happened.

Clean it with baking soda and vinegar and place baking soda in there afterwards. Boxes that food items come in can be notorious for making the fridge and freezer sink. I always take things out of the boxes like eggos since they are still wrapped.

I would remove everything and clean it with mild bleach water...then wipe everything off and put back into fridge....placing a box of baking soda on a shelf........If it is in the freezer, try putting a small plastic bowl of vinegar in there. It will freeze but that is o.k.

Defrost it completely and wash with bleach, soap and water. There must be something stuck in there that has gone bad. Once that is accomplished, clean your refrigerator inside completely, drawers etc. Then place a box of baking soda in the frig and it absorbs odors.
