Background: was on the pill for a few months. stopped taking 9/26. the first day of my last period was 9/12. i have taken daily pregnancy tests and all are negative. can I just start taking the pill again? I don't want to wait until a period. it could be months!!! And THEN I could end up pregnant!!

The reason the doctors tell you usually to wait to start the pill the Sunday of your period is to make certain that you are not pregnant. Also doing that you only would have to use a back up method of contraception for a week. (If you practiced unprotected sex just relying on the pill)

Taking it any other time you increase your risk of breakthrough bleeding during the month and also you would have to use a back up method of contraception for a month.

it is very wise to use bc properly...I got pregnant using it wrong...wait until the Sunday after ur period starts and u should be ok!!!! until then use condoms to prevent pregnancy!! Trust me!!!

wait until your period and use condoms or dont have sex until then. sorry, but if you want it to work then you need to use it properly!
