I think its GREAT !!!
I don't care about parity - I'd rather my team beat everyone by a 50 point spread.....
BUT - I think it will do a great deal to add fuel to the "we need a playoff" bondfire and lead to more grumbling about dissolving the BCS.
There's no reason they couldn't do a 8 team playoff and encorporate it into the existing bowl system. 4 games one week - then 2 the next - with the Championship game the same weekend of the BCS championship game. They might have to start the bowls 1 week early, but most (if not all) teams already get 1 to 2 weeks off between the end of the season (or their conference title game) and the start of the bowls.... They should just keep on playing.....
And it really only adds 1 (or 2) extra games to the season and only does it to the top 8 teams anyways.

All of NCAA college football? I think the mediocre is only in D-1 FBS. I go to Grand Valley State University who play in D-II and are the #1 ranked team in that division and there have been no real upsets in D-II yet except for lower ranked schools beating higher ranked schools. The Grand Valley State Lakers have just tied the NCAA D-II record for most consecutive wins with 34 straight victories after their 41-17 demolition of Indianapolis in the Homecoming Game this past Saturday. They are going to break that record when they play at Northwood next week.
GO LAKERS!!!

I think is better because I am sick of the same 5 schools winning every year. Imagine in the NFL every year the Bears, Patriots, Colts, Cowboys or Packers are the only team with a chance to win? It would be boring and unless you're a fan of those teams you won't watch the games.

Maybe a playoff system is what NCAA Division I football needs instead of this BCS BS. College football has been great this year because you never know what will happen next week.
