There is a big question about whether new boards come pre-waxed or not, but everyone agrees that you should NOT ride a board until it has been hot waxed. I have even heard that it helps to have a board "hot boxed" when it is new - this is where they put the board in a warm box to let the warm wax sink into the base - costs a few extra $.
This gives you more speed, keeps ice from sticking to the base, and most important, protects that very expensive board from minor nicks to the base.

Waxing is really important. Not just for a good ride but also to protect your base. I was doing dome research once and read a report about how if you let your base dry out during the summer it can actually affect its ability to properly absorb wax. I gave all my boards a good wax about a month ago and I do it every time before I take them out. I have rode with a few guys who only waxed once a season and even one guy who never had waxed. Once I got them doing it every time they couldn't believe how much of a better ride they had. Enjoy the season!

First of all, you want to wax your board every 3 rides, so if you're like me and ride everyday, that means a few times a week. Ride boards dont come prewaxed so ya, you want to wax it before you take it out for the first time. Since your season doesnt start for 2 months, you dont have to yet. 2 months huh, where do you live? Here in Utah we're less then a month away. Back to te subject, ya, wax it first. Speaking of wax, do you hot wax? rub on and paste wax is pretty much not worth the effort. hot waxing, although it takes much longer and is much more complicated, is much much better. if you dont know how to hot wax, its way easy to find out how on youtube or similair sites. good pick on the board by the way, Ride make some of the best boards out there. Have a good season man!

Wax your board at least once a week! You cant wax it to much, if your correctly removing the right amount of wax after each application, also make sure do do it again after the season ends, as this will preserve the base of your board during storage

Get a good start with your board, give it a good wax. It will not hurt at all (in fact it is good) to wax your board now. Hot wax is the longest lasting, and best way to wax. I bit more work but worth it. If you don't want to hassle with it, take it to a local board shop and have them wax it, just pay the $.
The clutch, I'm going to take a wild guess and say it is a DAKINE stomp pad. You put it just to the left of your right binding (if you are regular that is). You use it to keep your foot from slipping off when you get off the lift since you have to take one foot out to get on & off the lift (keeps your foot from slipping off the board while you rest it there). They are great to have so put it on now. You want to give it time for the adhesive to set up well before you take it out on the hill.

I wait until the snow gets good (a couple of rides)
Then I'm not rubbing the new wax off with crappy snow and debris(early season snow around here can be tough, untill we get a good dump). This also gets me in shape...so when I hit slope with a freshly waxed board....good speed
