I would help my neighbor....I like to know them. Then if I go out of town they can watch my house, and I can return the favor if they ever go out of town!!! I just got a new neighbor, she is remodeling her house, and she doesn't have a bathroom, cause she gutted hers, I told her to knock on my door and use mine anytime!!! She also doesn't have her lights outside yet so I keep mine on for her everynight so she can see when she leaves!!!

I am a very lucky person in that I have wonderful neighbors. They are the same as family. Yes I would and have helped my neighbors. They have also helped me when I needed it. Good question. I think this one made some people think!

I'm always one to help my neighbor, although not the type to pop by and introduce myself. I'll catch them in passing instead.
However, inconsiderate neighbors (ones who think they live on a farm with no one living next to them - on the phone in their yard, which is under my bedroom window, at 7am on a Sunday...) I generally snub.
Although if there was an emergency, I'd still do my civic duty and help where I can. No matter how rude they are.

I'm friends with most of my neighbors. We are like a large extended family, helping each other out on a regular basis.
Hope you have some friendly neighbors too.

I know all my neighbors really well, but then there are only two at this end of the street and we all have kids about the same age, so yes I will help them if they need it.

I actually say hello to most people in my street but there are weird ones who are just mental and will not speak or be nice at all.
But I did try they are just too antagonistic and inbred with ignorance.
But if I saw them being robbed I would help the thief make a hasty exit before the real munsters wake up from the living dead.

I feel so bad after reading every body's answers. I usually stay to myself. I got that from my Mom growing up. It was kind of instilled in me. However in my apartment building I have a really nice neighbor who we always say hi to and I think if he ever needed us we would try to help in any way we could. I believe he would do the same.

It depends.
Of course I would help them in a time of need...
Interesting question though to me..
My last neighbors were always at each others throat and into all kinds of crazy incidents...
So, they were real unstable people who I didnt want to get to know further.
But if I lived in a house-- yes, I would definitely help my neighbor... and get to know them well!

I help my neighbor all the time. She fell and broke her hip and when she was in the hospital, I went over and fed her bird everyday for 2 weeks. I help her shovel snow and pick up leaves, etc. I know that she would do the same for me if she could. She's great!

I am always willing to help others if I can, though I am aware that sometimes the way it seems they need help is not always the right way to go so I generally offer it up before I commit to anything.
