thats not true
Homosexuality can refer to both attraction or sexual behavior between people of the same sex, or to a sexual orientation. When describing the latter, it refers to enduring sexual and romantic attraction towards those of the same sex, but not necessarily to sexual behavior. Homosexuality is contrasted with heterosexuality (attraction, behavior, or orientation between opposite sexes), bisexuality (both sexes), and asexuality (neither sex).
Etymologically, the word homosexual is a Greek and Latin hybrid with homo (often confused with the later Latin meaning of "man", as in homo sapiens) deriving from the Greek word for same, thus connoting sexual acts and affections between members of the same sex, including lesbianism. In the English-speaking world, the term gay had been used within the subculture for decades before becoming popularized by the gay rights movement in the 1970s. In a narrow sense, gay refers to male homosexuality, but it often is used in its broadest sense, especially in media headlines and reports, to refer to homosexuality in general. Lesbian, however, always denotes female homosexuality.

also called sapphism or female homosexuality the quality or state of intense emotional and usually erotic attraction of a woman to another woman.
As it was first used in the late 16th century, the word lesbian was the capitalized adjectival term referring to the Greek island of Lesbos. Its connotation of “female homosexuality” was added in the late 19th century, when an association was made with the tender and often…

i think this idea is based on the fact that straight women tend to be more secure about their sexuality than straight men and are more likely to kiss other girls or have 1 guy 2 girl threesomes than straight guys would be to do anything with another guy or to be in a 2 guys 1 girl threesome. so what they the're saying is that if it can be done so casually then is it the same as something that someone else is so serious about. i'm going to say yes. the lesbians i've met and the open minded women i've met are totally different when it comes to their relationships and sex lives.

Lesbianism IS homosexuality .
What they might have been comparing is the male and female "gay" lifestyle to homosexuality . But Lesbianism is not equal to gay although some people use it interchangably such as in LGBT ( Lesbian Gay , Bi , Transgendered .) Lesbian is equal to homesexual male .
It would take too long for me to further elaborate and I running late !

The prefix "homo-" means "same."
The prefix "hetero-" means "different."
Homosexuality, by definition, means that you are sexually attracted to the same gender. Lesbians are women who are attracted to women (the same gender), so they are homosexuals. Heterosexuals are sexually attracted to the other gender.
The word "lesbian" (from Lesbos) is derived from the Greek island of Lesbos, which was populated by women, according to the poet Sappho. Sappho describes emotional connection between these women, which is sometimes interpreted as homosexual connection.
