Do they get high from doing this? Is it like a form of mental aggression as opposed to physical aggression in men?

Women probably do it for the same reasons males report sexual harassment for no or barely any reason, or the reasons men and women make any claim, for attention and/or money.

More men are now filing sexual harassment claims-do you think they are filing for no or barely any reason too?

Myth: Most charges of sexual harassment are false.

Reality: People have nothing to gain from making false accusations and filing false charges. It is very
difficult to file sexual harassment charges, and "the system" can be very hostile to accusers. Confronting the issue can be both physically and financially draining. Usually, victims are traumatized further by the entire process.

Myth: The seriousness of sexual harassment is exaggerated; most "harassment" is really minor, and involves harmless flirtation.

Reality: Sexual harassment can be devastating. Studies indicate that most harassment has nothing to do with "flirtation: or sincere sexual or social interest on the part of the perpetrators. And it is offensive, often frightening and insulting, to the victims. Research shows that victims must often to leave school or jobs to avoid harassment. Many experience serious psychological and health-related problems. They may even be forced to relocate to other cities.

Approximately 15,000 sexual harassment cases are brought to the EEOC each year--over 13,000 were filed in 2004. The majority of complaints come from women, however the number of complaints filed by men is rapidly increasing.

In 2004, over 15% of complaints were filed by men with 11% of claims involving men filing against female supervisors. Moreover, a 2006 government study in the United Kingdom revealed that 2 out of 5 sexual harassment victims in the UK are male, with 8% percent of all sexual harassment complaints to the Equal Opportunities Commission (Britain's EEOC), coming from men.

A telephone poll by Louis Harris and Associates on 782 U.S. workers revealed:
* 31% of the female workers reported they had been harassed at work
* 7% of the male workers reported they had been harassed at work
* 62% of targets took no action
* 100% of women reported the harasser was a man
* 59% of men reported the harasser was a woman
* 41% of men reported the harasser was another man

The Gender Public Policy Coalition stated recently that increasing numbersof men filing against other men. Seventeen percent of men said they had experienced sexual harassment, vs. 35% of women, in an August 2004 study by lawyers.com and Glamour magazine.

I was recently told that I was a 'troll' and a 'rapist' by someone here on Answers. Why would She say that about Me? Because she was being harassed by someone else and she was too stupid to realize that I was a totally different person. This is the sort of thing that ruins the credibility of young women. Sometimes they just react with the first accusation that comes to mind, without bothering to think about the consequences of their actions.

Sexual harassment is investigated and if their is no evidence then the case is dismissed and the credibility of the accuser is diminished. Anyone male or female should not have to work under such conditions. Would you want your wife, daughter, mother or sister subjected to that type of demeaning treatment?

One word: MONEY! Didn't you see the Isiah Thomas Case. I don't know if Isiah was guilty or not, but the woman got 11.6 million dollars from Madison Square Garden. And the thing is, despite that the woman said she was harassed, she wanted her job back too. Basically, money is the reason, and it really sucks cause, a lot of other women are actually harassed, but are too scared to report it to the police, and you got other people who just want to make a buck at the expense of innocent people.

The law firm where I interned just defended a case where I got to sit in, and the woman lost. She was "offended" by things that were so unreasonable even the lawyers in the firm where I work couldn't figure it out. But she cost the company she sued a lot of money in attorney's fees.

Most cases of sexual harrassment are cases of one sided attraction. If a big fat hairy guy that works in the mail room or takes out the trash tells a woman shes attractive or that he'd like to go out with her, its harrassment. However if the George Clooney looking CEO walks by and says "do fries come with that shake?" She will just giggle and laugh. There is definitely a time and a place for everything, but too often they probably need to lighten up.

Revenge, morning-after change of heart, and excuses for failure to fulfil obligations are the top reasons for false rape charges, given by those who recant those charges (according to Warren Farrell).
For harrassment charges, some of them are of course valid and appropriate, but the inappropriate ones seem to be a means of throwing around women's political weight in order to get revenge for some slight, real or imagined, or to get ahead in business. Some women nurture their hypersensitivity to the point that they see harrassment in a friendly greeting. These are the only motives I've seen.

I remember this happening in the novel Disclosure. The woman had tried to seduce her male subordinate, and it was almost about to work when he pulled away. She brought charges against him to humiliate him and ruin his perfect family life.

I would guess that these women are on a power trip. Think about it--you can control people just with that one little threat.
