They are afraid God will get mad at them if they don't believe in it. But they'd rather keep it quiet because they are embarrassed to say they believe in such an idiotic idea.

For a country that supposedly has no State religion, the USA is a very religious nation and fundamentalist Christianity has a strong hold. The only way to combat it is education but the fundies take their children out of the education system to put them in "Christian" schools or home-scool them. They know that a real education will kill fundie ideas stone dead so they don't allow their children to be educated.

Creationism and the anti-science movement should be fought at every turn and at every level otherwise the USA will become a religious backwater while the rest of the world moves on.

Because it's true--evolution is just a belief also masquerading as science and is not supported by real science. But it's jammed down our kids throats to make them disbelieve the Bible which is against most parents wishes. This country was founded on Christian principles and belief in God as creator of the universe...nothing in evolution is true enough or worth changing that view. It's a false theory and just a belief in "naturalism". If other countries want to believe that, go live there. It is offensive to a lot of people that lies are being spread and funded in schools...if beliefs are not allowed to be taught in school, then evolution should be out as well.
