Both are normal!! First I had the cramping feeling and that is because the uterus is stretching. It sucks but it has to happen. Then the pinkish discharge is because the egg is attaching its self to the wall of your uterus, and this can cause some blood to work its way out. As for having the white discharge now that is normal too. And it should stay that way. If you do have more pinkish discharge you then need to go to your doctor. There could be something wrong and then again nothing at all. The blood vessels on your cervix become very sensitive and break very easily and this could give you the pink discharge.

It sounds like your period. Usually, when it first starts, it is very irregular. It can take a couple of years for it to completely regulate and be on a "normal" schedule. If you are a virgin, you have nothing to worry about. You couldn't possible be pregnant or have any STD. It's normal for it to be brown too. All of this will regulate over time.

Female Health
Vaginal Discharge
Vaginal discharge is normal and varies during your menstrual cycle. Before ovulation (the release of the egg), there is A LOT of mucous produced, up to 30X more than after ovulation. It is also more watery and elastic during that phase of your cycle. You may want to wear panty liners during that time.
The things to be worried about include if the discharge has a yellow or green color, is clumpy like cottage cheese, or has a bad odor. If worried, see a doctor.
Different Types of Discharge
Is this normal?
Different Types of Discharge
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.
Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

Is this normal?
We receive many questions about vaginal discharge through our "Ask the Expert" section. Below physician assistant Steven Johnson, explains what is normal and when to see a health care provider.
One of the challenges to answering questions sent into a health care Web site is making sure that the person asking the question seeks the advice and care from her doctor when appropriate. There is often information NOT given that can really change the answer.
For instance:
How old are you (really)?
Are you on medications or do you take herbs or vitamins?
Do you have pain or itching?
Are you pregnant?
Do you have other health problems (like diabetes)?
An important question is sexual activity. Sometimes it isn't accurate to simply say yes or no. Symptoms can depend on the number of sexual partners, kind of sexual partners, birth control, birth control failure, kind of sex you are having and if abuse is involved. I think you can see, it can get pretty complicated to get all the information needed to give the best answer possible.
With that said, here is my best answer to the common question of vaginal discharge.
A normal vaginal discharge consists of about a teaspoon (4 ML) a day that is white or transparent, thick to thin, and odorless. This is formed by the normal bacteria and fluids the vaginal cells put off. The discharge can be more noticeable at different times of the month depending on ovulation, menstrual flow, sexual activity and birth control.
It is not uncommon for the normal discharge to be dark, brown or discolored a day or two following the menstrual period.
If you are having ANY of the symptoms below SEE YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.
Pain
Itching
Discomfort
Rash or sores alone or with a vaginal discharge

That is your period. Often the first few periods will be brown. Over time they will turn red (although you may still have some brown at the beginning or end of your period)

I think that is most likely your first period. It is usually more brown looking than bloody. It will also be sparatic for a few months i think while your body adjusts. I would tell your mother or someone close to you right away to make sure everything is okay. If your a virgin though I'm sure thats it. It wouldnt be a result from masterbation. good luck!

No offense but you need to work on your typing...............that was the way I started my period too, when I got it for the very first time I got dark brown STUFF for 3 days straight, and then I finally told my mom and she figured it was my period. So that's what I bet it is too. Don't worry, you're all right.

I know someone that was your age and had the same thing off and on for about 6 months before her period came. It's nothing to worry about. Just use liners or pads.

this sounds like you are indeed having a period, i think you should talk to your mum or sis or aunt and have them explain to you the information you need. but please dont be scared it is normal to have brown discharge when you first begin your period you may have it for up to 14 days if it continues past there you need to see the doctor, and dont feel stupid for assuming that this meant you are pregnant because it can be a symptom of pregnancy but you are not because you said you are a virgin and no matter how much you masturbate you will not become pregnant unless there is male sperm present so please do not concern yourself that you are pregnant and PLEASE TALK TO YOUR MUM!

Sweetie, where is your mom? She should be there for you to ask these things. If you mom is not in your life, then maybe talk to grandma or a counselor at school....
It does sound like you are starting your period. Don't freak out, you'll be just fine.
