Ok..next month is my 4 year anniversary with my husband and I have planned a picnic in our living room for us. I was thinking his buddies could go out with him the 1st part of the day and when the sun is setting they drop him off. When he opens the apartment door he hears our songs playing with led lights lighting the hall way and the pinic on the living room floor. With all of dinner being heart shaped and his favorite bottle of wine. Silk rose petals are also lining the floor to the picnic. While apple pie is in the oven. Opinions please what would guys do if they were to walk into an apartment like that? I am debating rather or not to do this.

ok so here is a little more detail. He hates oral, his friends do not drink, he like homemade meals better then going out since I can cook better then most resturants (that we can afford). Also we live right next to the water and we live in Seattle. By then it will be raining and yucky outside all day.

well, I'm 29 years married, both my Wife and I surprise each other as much as possible, with candle lit dinners, romantic getaways, gifts, and it don't have to be a special occasion. in the 33 years we have known each other we have not had one augment, romance, love and understanding are the key things to make it work, i think what you are doing is 100% right, but please tell his best friend that you plan a romantic evening at home and that way his best friend should keep him sober

Sounds cute but you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. Why would he want to go out with his buddies on his anniversary when he has a "Hot Babe" at home?
What happens if he comes home late or has too much to drink, your day would be spoilt and all your hard work gone down the drain?
How about doing something together in the day. Have a picnic in the park, or do something different that you haven't done before, example go boating/rowing with a picnic basket on board.
When you get home, arrange for a nice take-away to be delivered to your home, while he is having a soothing, aromatic bath, slip into something really comfortable and sexy, and open his favourite chilled wine.
Have everything ready for when he has finished his bath, sit down and enjoy the meal, adding a bit of suggestive conversation and provocative subtle body exposure.
If you get to the end of the meal, without intimate interruption, lay him down on the floor and give him a body massage.
What follows should make your anniversary memorable and with far less work.

I asked my husband and he said the idea sounded wonderful. He said that he enjoys when I take the initiative to bring romance around every once in a while and don't wait for him to do it. He also said he would be thinking "I am getting luckkkkyyyy tonight!!: a direct quote.

But I would add that I would let his buddies in on some of it - that you have him a surprise and that they are not to let him get drunk or come back with him

Congrads on the anniversary and good luck

Skip the buddy thing, plan the day for you and your spouse. Then when you return home, romance him...he would be looking for it. Start out with what you have planed for your evening at home and while your song is playing in the background, put on some sexy lingerie and just spoil him.

I would be in Heaven !!!

I would forget the rose petals; keep the wine and be naked, with the LEDs strategically placed. Apple pie is ok too, for afters.

My 3 year anniversary is later this month. I'm going to buy him a 12 pack and let him rent smut on pay-per-view. He's gonna do the dishes & keep the kids out of my hair while I take a bubble bath- alone.

Sending him out w/ the buddies?? Well that would be a mistake and he won't notice the rose petals cuz he'll probably be wasted.

This would be very nice. Just insure he doesn't drink,or over-drink while he's out with the boys. I would most definitely love to walk into something like that. It shows you out a lot of thought into it. By the way....Congratulations!

Hummm I would love for my wife to do something like that. If you do it and he does not like it we can trade spouses.

I am not a man but I would think he would love it. I think you should do this without him going out with his buddies just in case he had to much to drink and partied to hard. You might be in for a disappointment if that happens.
