I agree with spibbles except the last sentence. It is not wise to believe in something without thoroughly examining the evidence. I have and I think the evidence is pretty compelling. We have lots of physical evidence including, handprints, footprints, hairs, butt print, etc. If we actually get some good DNA evidence, that might be enough. There are numerous stories of bigfoot in Indian legends and myths. They existed before whites came in the remote places as they do now and generally the Native Americans avoided those places. From Alaska to California, the stories are consistent and interesting and seem to describe a living breathing creature. A few years ago, I took a picture of a mask in the Smithsonian that was of a bigfoot. The Smithsonian said the mask was a seal but in fact it was a representation of an "otter man" which is their version of bigfoot. It was clearly a very apelike face. They stuck porcupine quills in the mask's face to represent the sea anenomea it was believed to eat. I always found it a bit annoying that I knew that and the Smithsonian didn't or simply didn't want to represent what it really was.

Some Native Americans believe Bigfoot is a shape shifter. It can morph into
different images at will.

I am of Native American heritage. And do believe in out various customs and traditions.
If it is of supernatural powers, then that would explain why no one has ever documented killing on.

Then there is the skeptic in me that says no they do not exist.

It is actually not too hard to believe that bigfoots or bigfeet exist. The problem is believing they are part of an evolutionary train. After all, freaks exist in a circus. But we dont think we CAME from them, or will turn into them. Since they dont fit in anywhere, they hide in remote places and throw rocks, and they stink. What else is new?

You may be close to the answer you seek.
There have been reports from all over the world, reguarding a creature that we know as BIG FOOT,
In China and Tibet it is the Ambonible Snow man.
Differet names from different cultures around the world.
There have been stoies passed down through time from them all including the Native Americans.
These stoies are told as truth and passed down trhough the generations. Let me add that no matter the name you use the stories are older than Hollywood,
Don

Really wanting to believe in something isn't a reason to believe in it. I'd really like to believe that I'll get a new car for Christmas; that doesn't make it any more likely to turn out true. Sorry, I don't think Bigfoot's real.

People didn't believe in radio waves or germs because they couldn't see them either.
He could be from a parallel universe, if Einstein believed in parallel universes (which he did)I'd say they were possible.
