I'm naturally a shy person..but lately I feel extremely shy..and talking to people just bothers me......i just feel like I have alot of anxiety and well....lifes just not alot of fun right now.

Yes sleep does effect your moods and how well you interact with your day. On the average I get about four hours of sleep a night sometimes if I am lucky maybe a straight six. I mean and I go all day. From 4 in the morning till midnight working two jobs, taking care of my 3 kids, cooking cleaning, kids homework, going to the gym, class meetings, etc. I stay busy, and sometime I get burned out. It starts to take its effect on me. My nerves get shot, my face might breakout or something from stress, Overly tired and cranky sometime, thats when I need to take a break. I work 7 days a week between my two jobs, and some days I work both jobs back to back 17 hours straight you know. It is crazy, and really unneccesary. Don't burn yourself out. Get more rest if you need it, so you don't drive yourself or the people around you crazy do to your crankiness and lack of sleep.

In a way, you answered your own question. It's lack of sleep that is affecting your mood. I bet you're not eating right either. And tell me truthfully...are you drinking alcohol in order to fit in? Alcohol is a depressant. It feels good when you're doing it, but oh the next morning you pay. All of these things cause depression...of your mind and your body. Try to discipline yourself, leaving yourself enough time for rest. You can still have some fun as well, but concentrate on why you're in school. Don't waste your time or your parent's money. You'll be happier.

Yes...sleep has a significant influence on mood...The less sleep you get, the more likely you are to feel cranky, restless, anxious, on edge, etc...
