I don't know how these people use so much electricity. I guess they run their AC's all day and night. If they have a big house then I can see the bill being about $150.00 a month. My electricity isn't ever over $70.00 a month in the summer, but then again I don't stay home all day and night and run my AC 24/7.

Your electric bill is determined by how low you set your thermostat, other electrical gadgetry you use, whether you keep you shades, drapes, blinds open or closed, if you use your oven and stove a lot each day, etc. Two people in the same size house or apt can have a monthly difference in their bills exceeding 100.00! In the summer, people here don't use heat-generating appliances too much. Cooking out helps, as does limiting electronics. Lots of furnishings hold the heat.Fans help, but they use electricity too! In short, your bill is what YOU make it! The less space, the less junk and the faster you can adapt to the heat and dryness will help your bill!

From Salt River Project [SRP] one of 2 utilities on a 1000 ft condo. Winter months $70 to $85 a month.
Summer $130 to $160 per month. These are averages.
After the first year you will be eligible for a managed pay program where they average your monthly bill and you get the same statement for 11 months and adjust in the 12th. Using common sense you can keep your bill down.
Feel free to email me thru Yahoo if I can be of any further help.

Right now with the start of Winter...my bill is still over $100.00. Its due to that SRP charges a delivery charge (charge for transmitting the electricity, plus a energy charge along with city, state and county taxes). Plus SRP is raising their rates again. In Summer...who knows? With running the air conditioning 24/7...it will add up quick!!!!
Hope that answers your question.

As everyone says it depends on the time of the year. Summer is always twice as high as winter. Plus if apartment or condo you will have to take into consideration which direction you face. If west or south facing the cost will be higher. I just moved from condo facing south, 1000 ft. Summer bills were 285.00, and winter was 115.00. Just moved to a 2000 sq foot house with pool. It jumped up to 430.00 for summer months.

There are too many variables to answer this question accurately.
Summer/Winter.
How new/old the home is.
The size of the home.
AC v. Central Air v. Heater.
- How often any of the above are running.
