The last pill that I took was 9/26. I have not gotten my period, but I am not surprised. I am not pregnant. I have tested daily with the dollar store tests. . . Anyway i was wondering if I could just start taking them again since I haven't had unprotected sex in 7 days. I tested this morning and it was negative. I really don't want to wait 3-4 months for my cycle to return. I just want to be 'protected' again.

Get a blood test done, just to be sure. It's quick and (fairly) painless, and will tell you for sure. Even the best "pee on a stick" test comes up false positive on occassion. The pregnancy hormone levels basically double every day, and if your last unprotected sex was 7 days ago, it's quite likely that you COULD still be pregnant.

And for the next month or so, you'll have to use condoms as a back up.

You have to wait until your period again. Most people like to start on Sundays. So as soon as your period starts you can start taking the pill on the day you choose. That way your system won't get all out of whack. BC pills are homones and if you take them out of order you can really screw up your system. Maybe you should see your doc about some new pills? They can also give you a pill to help you start your period if you need help with that.

Why did you stop taking the pill?

You'll need to use a condom as well as the pill if you plan on being sexually active after starting it for at least a week.
