My son has a really cute collection of clothes, and we all know that baby/toddler clothes aren't cheap. I take good care of them but whenever he stays with realtives they or goes to my step-moms for babysitting his clothes come back with grease stains (from food) on them. I don't even realize until after they've been washed and dried! This has happend to four shirts so far. Is there any way to get these stains out? I'm holding onto them just incase. Thanks a lot.

If you can find a product where you live called Dr Beckmann stain remover , then you will have no problem getting rid of any stains , removes oil even car oil, any stain it will remove. But if you have no luck finding this then I can suggest this. Soak the clothing in cold water add a small amount of dish washing up liquid to the stain. Rub the liquid in using your finger tips , leave for a few min´s then pop the clothes into your machine on a 40ºc normal wash cycle if allowing so. The stain should come out , this method is very good for removing makeup stains especially lipstick

Buy Shout Spray or any enzyme stain remover on the market. Spray, let sit and then wash in cold water. Hot water will set the stains. The fact that she washed and dried them actually sets the stains, so you may have trouble. If you do not succeed the first time, try it again.

The best solution I have found for grease is mechanics hand cleaner Gojo rub a little on the spot and wash as usual it takes grease from work out of my husbands clothes.
It has a little pumice in it but doesn't hurt clothes and it smells like oranges.

Try pre-soaking them in "dawn" dish washing liquid, and then air drying them instead of putting them in the dryer, also, when your son goes to your step-mom's home, tell her that when he eats, make sure he has a bib on, or provide an old play shirt for when he eats, so there is no more mess's, just tell her, that you paid alot for the shirt's and you relize it's not her fault, as baby's are messy, but you would rather prevent the hassel of having them specaily cleaned or having to throw them in the trash.

I use shout AND spray n' wash, let it soak for a couple of minutes (despite whether its a new or old stain) and then wash the items like usual. Sometimes it takes two tries, but they always come out!

I have 4 kids and we have found that smearing the spots with dish washing liquid and then letting them sit for 20-60 minutes and then washing as you usually do will really work well. If that doesn't work then putting a couple of drops of turpentine on the spot followed by the dishwashing liquid will REALLY work.
