Because Westlife are a bunch of criminally untalented non-musicians whose career is, we hope, rapidly grinding to a halt.

Faintly amusing anecdote: I only know them from hearing their stuff on the radio when I go to get my hair cut, and wouldn't be able to pick them out of a police lineup. One night about a year ago, I happened to end up in the VIP lounge of a club in Dublin. Don't ask me how, I never go to these places, I was with someone way cooler than me. There was a bunch of guys and young women at a nearby table, and every so often one or two of the guys would cruise by our table and flash a smile and ask how we were all doing. I kept wondering what this was about until one of them actually asked me personally, and thinking he was drunk or on drugs I just gave him a blank look. He went away. At that point, somebody explained to me that it was Westlife.

Hey, a lot of groups do this. They're not alone. I don't know the song, but know that this happens a lot. They try to make an identity of their own with a song that isn't theirs. Worst group for this are perhaps UB40. Their rendition of songs like 'I Got You Babe,' 'Red Red Wine,' etc., are truly awful. To be honest, there are too many groups doing this, it just goes to show that they can't produce decent music of their own.

They can't be that bad, they've had 14 UK number one singles, this is the 3rd highest in UK history behind Elvis and The Beatles. I heard their new single on GMTV this morning. It beats Michael Buble's version hands down.

Because it's all they can do. They're crap and possibly the most overrated act of the last 10 years.

Glad somebody has finally voiced an opinion on a group who "sing other peoples's songs" badly, i add.

i believe the correct name of the band is pondlife..or is it get a life..i only hope they do as the title suggests and go home..stop (and i use this term loosely) singing and retire before their kids get old enough to despise the embarassment of it all
