You might experiment with a clear lacquer spray. You wouldn't spray directly at the poof but above it (before you pick it). The lacquer would act as a glue to hold it together. See how far the spray goes and position the can so the spray starts falling when it above the poof.

Someone else, like my "evil" neighbor! She's always saying "that is a weed!". I know peoples who make a tasty Dandelion mead! The Dandelion has a long medicinal history as being a diuretic and mild laxative. It cleanses the blood and tissues, helps with rheumatisim as well as being great for Gallbladder, Liver and skin diseases. You can eat its leaves in salads or have them as a tea and you can roast the roots as a great substitute for coffee. Also, I do try to educate people on the matter, I try to explain to her about the beautiful 9 leafed plant that is defiantly in the weed family but she just doesn't get it! I mean really, when will people learn one persons weed is another persons herb!

They're pretty dry, so they won't decompose.

Some people have had a fair amount of luck spraying (gently!) with a fixative of some sort. Others buy lucite paperweights with dandelions entrapped therein.
