Review the work of Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson. They are 2 of the most racist human beings on the planet.
But seriously, racism is thrown out as an excuse far too often for many situations. Do I think that racism does not exist? Heck no. It exists, but those that accuse others of racism are oftentimes more racist than the accused. I once read a quote (whose name eludes me) that there are NOT any different races, only different "people groups". We are all of the same race… the Human Race.

I agree with Eric R, Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton are very racist. The racism runs deeper on their side, the inability to forgive past generations, and not being capable of moving on.
Bill Cosby speaks the truth.
I also like what Clarence Thomas said. He said he wanted to see all children go to college no matter what color they were. He wasn't just fighting for his own race.
I fealt the same way the other day, when I saw an old black man being talked down to in a store, It made me angry, and I said something.

As you can see from prior responses, a racist is someone who discriminates based on race or skin color alone. However, people misuse that word all the time. I'm not trying to sound predjudiced myself, but black people tend to use that term whenever someone affronts them, with no real bearing on what it really means.

There are a lot of misconstrued conceptions about what a racist is. The term originally was recognized as a belief that one’s race was superior to another through biologic differences. Science has shown us that each race has its own hindrances and benefits. There is no one trait or traits that make one race superior or inferior to another biologically. The term is used today rather
liberally to mean someone who doesn’t like another race or someone because of their race. That isn’t racism. It’s either hate or fear.

I generally think of a 'racist' as somebody who disregards a race thats not their own.
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

A racist is someone who discriminates against a person of a different race such as a white person calling a black person a n*gger, a mexican a beaner, and so forth. Or in the same tense a black person calling a white person a cracker.

That is a hard word to define. I think it means judging ANYBODY by their skin color, not just minorities.
That means it's not acceptable to think all minorities are a certain way, just like it's not OK to think all white people are a certain way. That hurts anybody's feelings and it's not nice.
Race relations are complicated, but it's best if we leave all preconceptions at the door.
The longer you live, the more people you will meet who prove every preconception wrong.
