It is an "answer" in the sense of a response -- but it is not a solution, in the sense that it accomplishes very little.
Some people, sadly, are more interested in attacking others than in actually solving problems or sharing information. That is their choice, but I wish they would take it somewhere else.

There are two perceptions that create the most hostility. That is religion and politics. Insults usually are an effect when people begin putting emotion over reason. Everyone does it on here at times because it tends to grow on you. When it comes to freedom of speech I'm a huge activist of it. Even if it's not civilized as you have stated, I have not once reported someone for saying something I do not like. However many complain about getting reported not understanding that this is a private network and if those who own the website get rid of your account they have a right to do so. You complied to those rules when signing with Y/A. But I'm getting way off topic here.
I think it is best to debate in a logical sense because insults don't give solutions, but I personally will not stop them, because almost everyone does it. Trolls are retards in my opinion and are not worth answering. That's what I intend to do on here even though it sometimes fails lol. Report them, ignore them, or block them. Either way that choice is yours.

Freedom of speech and political discourse are part and parcel of the American way of life.
Having said that I must say there were 2 things I was told never to discuss at the dinner table Religion and Politics.
At least in this country having a difference of opinion doesn't NORMALLY wind up in killing.

I'm growing tired of coming to the Politics section on here. Too many people toe-ing party lines and reduced to bickering. I think I might just stick with Physics. At least with Physics, the answers are right and wrong.

It depends. If somebody hollers out something hateful,I do it right back.If somebody is going to play dirty than I have no problem beating them at their own game, and its sometimes the only way to get a point across.
I only behave civilized when the person I'm talking to does.

I do call people lefties and libs...but it's in a loving tone. The labels serve a purpose, particularly when debating in the political arena of ideas.
