I'd be worried as hell if I were you too, but I don't know what to say. Ask them to give you the doctor's phone number to talk to her. I wouldn't care about "inconveniencing" them, so you shouldn't either. You're the mother. You outrank doctor. Voice your concerns and do it LOUD!

You have a valid concern and need to get the first available appointment to see the doctor. You are paying the doctor for his servces and you have a right to insist on a consultation to relieve your fears. Any good OB would be willing to take a few minutes to talk with you about this. Just because you are a big girl doesnt mean that you will dilate enough to allow the baby's head to go thru your cervix. The doctor needs to be prepared so that you dont go through hours of needless labor if a C section would be safest for both you and your baby. He at least needs to be aware of your previous problems with delivery.

it's wierd to me that you aren't seeing your dr. everytime? i saw mine ever visit until i got a midwife, then i saw her every visit. i'd switch doctors, if nothing else, because your doctor doesn't seem to be really involved & you won't feel as comfortable with him delivering your baby than someone who's been there with you through the whole pregnancy and knows all the possible complications.
on the other hand, 39 weeks is really late to be switching.
most O.B offices have "on call" doctors. ask to see one of them. or go to the E.R & say you're getting worried & they'll bring a doctor in to talk to you, even if it isn't your doctor.
9 lbs. though, isn't that outragous.

Aww hun, just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean it will be like that again, but you always have the right to request another doctor.
Also the size of the mother has nothing to do with waht size child they should or should not be able to deliver, the size of the opening in the hips does.......
Good luck! I hope that this labor is smooth, swift and mild!

Please remember that 2nd babies usually deliver much faster than first babies. If you get into a squatting or supported squatting position your hips and pelvis will be wide open and you should not have any problems pushing a baby out. Pushing while on your back with your legs in stirrups or held up is pushing 'uphill'. Good luck!

No, you're not overreacting. I would demand the first appt. available. I hate it when doctor's offices do that. Maybe she will do a c-section if the same situation occurs? I know you have ? and you need them answered. I'm sorry that you're going through this right now. Good luck and congrats!

You are not over reacting!!! I know it's late, but can you switch doctors? This one doesnt seem to have you or your baby's best interest at heart!!! It's your baby's well being that we're talking about here!
