That would mean he would have to acknowledge something good that came out of the Democratic party and we all know that partisan warfare is the way of the White House.
Deek--that's the point.....

First, how do you know he didn't? If it's not on the news, it didn't happen? Never occurred to you that perhaps neither of them wanted to publicize the phone call? Second, are you saying that the President shouldn't congratulate teachers of the year, spelling bee champs, and sports teams? You make it sound as if it is wrong. Third, why should he? Is it mandatory or something? Frankly, Bush Senior and Bill Clinton deserve the Nobel Peace Prize far more than Al Gore does for making a movie.

I think they are still tallying the votes because there has been a recount. When the recount is done, some time between never and the day after, and it is found out that Gore still stole the Nobel Prize victory, I still doubt that Bush will congratulate him because when was the last time you heard of a sitting president congratulate a civilian for winning a circle-jerk contest?

Because everyone in politics these days are distancing themselves from Mr Bush. I wouldn't be surprised that someone from the Gore camp placed a call to the Bush camp and asked that President Bush not to mention anything in a public way.

Bush only congratulates those who really earn their reward so Gore doesn't qualify.
Now for the bad news he did:
""Of course he's happy for Vice President Gore. ... He's happy for the International Panel on Climate Change scientists who also shared the peace prize. Obviously it's an important recognition. And we're sure the vice president's thrilled." — White House spokesman Tony Fratto, referring to President Bush.'

For those of you who said he did, you should read the article a little more closely:
"Obviously, it's an important recognition and we're sure the vice president is thrilled," added Fratto, who said he did not know of plans for Bush to make a congratulatory call to Gore.

Well, he wanted too but there was no one there to dial the telephone for him,and we all know how confusing those new fangled gadgets are for Repuglicans to understand.

Bush did make quick mention of it. He isn't going to make a big deal out of it.
