Careful there... methinks I detect a trick question...

before you can answer this question, you need to know the distinction between an ionic bond and a covalent bond.

Once you learn to distinguish between these two classifications (which aren't really different, but are opposite ends of what could be related to a spectrum), you will realize that any kind of chloride is always going to be ionic.

However, within the sub spectrum of ionic bonds, there are some chemical compounds that display stronger bonds than others, which could therefore be classified as being more covalent than the others.

Most ionic bonds tend to be broken by the introduction of a polar solvent like water, so the question might best be answered by figuring out which of the compounds in question has the lowest solubility in H20.

Since H, Na, K, and Rb are all first-period elements, they are all quite soluble, ionically, in water.

However, since H is already a component of H2O, I would imagine that HCl will be slightly less soluble than the others in H20.

Therefore, I agree with Rhsaunde, that HCl will be the least ionic, and MIGHT be the answer you are looking for.

But, I still feel you should be aware that your professor might be trying to trick you into making a decision where the best answer might actually be "None of the above".

Only HCl has a bond which is not highly ionic.

Only '4', all the rest are ionically bonded.

you do no longer might desire to look it up, that is B. the explanation is that each and every person the different are particularly a lot gases. undergo in suggestions that NaCl=salt that's a stable, so maximum possibly NaF is particularly heavy too.
