You just have to jump in there and find something. You can do it.

Put a map on the wall and throw darts at it!! Go wherever one lands! ;)
Really, it depends. Consider your career and housing markets. I'd LOVE to live in Boston or Seattle, but the cost of living isn't realistic.
I know there are several sites that follow job market trends. find a place where what you do is in demand. Do you have money stashed where you can just travel for a little while? Make a list of the high-demand areas, and visit them. If one of them strikes you, plant yourself!
I think having no ties and the entire world open would be a wonderful opportunity. Don't let it scare you and just go for it! Millions of people would kill for that chance.

If you don't believe in destiny I suggest you ask a friend or google the best places to live. If you do believe in destiny then you can always draw out of a hat, drop a pencil on a world map, or play pin the tail on the donkey. If you really want to just go then you may try driving as far as 5-10 gas tanks away and just stop where you land.

Thousands of students (me included) go abroad and search for and find accommodation without having any ties. So its not a hard thing to do. Just google the websites and spend some time replying to the ads. Good luck with the loss-dealing thing. I think getting away is the right thing to do. :)

First, I hope you have a job. Try work to meet new people and ask them what parts of town are nice and affordable. Then take a class, learn how to do something you didn't know before. Who knows you may find yourself having fun. Starting over is easy,You can be who ever you want to be nobody knows you. Have fun with it.

hmm, well where did you really like that you visited in your travels? maybe there is something about that place that you could find in a town or state. do a pros and cons list. i don't like it really cold, so i wouldn't pick a place that snows. i like fresh water, not salt. and i have to have shopping available. so that would cancel out alot of places for me. what are hobbies, museums? music? those might be criteria for where to begin. good luck.

Sleep in your car and apply for every apartment that you can. Try going to a place that you always wanted to live and get an apartment there. It won't kill you to sleep in your car for a few days. You could also try hotels.

Lots of apartments guides, etc. online if you know where you want to live. Also it would be wise to check the local paper for jobs etc. Good luck to you.
