Isn't almost everything a form of "escape" - family, friends, food, games, jobs, money, power.... what isn't an escape from life?

I wouldn't say that's an escape from life, family, friends, food, games, jobs, money, power, etc all of those things is what makes life.
If work is your life, then yes friends can be your escape. If your having family problems, then drugs can be your escape.
Escape is what you make of it.
They say theres only two things you cant escape in life, death and taxes. For everything else, there's just something else.
