Ok i have a venus fly trap and want to know the following
Can i feed it crickets

Yes, you can feed it (pieces) of crickets. You'll need to chop them up.

1. any other carnivorous plant. However, if you are going to keep them outside then make sure you check cold and heat tolerances. Some Carnivorous plant can't do direct sun or freezing temps. The VFTs can do both. They love full sun and can take temps as low as 20 degrees. Any colder than that then they will need to moved into a garage or garden shed. If you keep them inside then you will need to winterize them and let them hibernate inorder for them to reemerge next Spring.

4. The traps stay open until fed. However, you only want to feed you trap 2 times per month at most and only one trap at a time. The trap will die back when digestion is done so don't be alarmed.

6. Full Sun. However, if you are keeping it in a terrerium then give it bright light, but keep it out of direct light or you will cook your plant.

7. It is a bog plant so the soil needs to stay moist at all time. You can use a saucer of water under a porous pot or make sure you water it daily. If you are not going to grow them directly in the ground, then I'd go with the saucer or terrerium in order to keep the soil moist.

It will look dead while in hibernation so don't throw it away. (been there, done that)

Most of the answers here are correct...However one big tip is to use distilled water. They will look and grow better with distilled water. Stay away from tap water.
