The farest Galazy away from ours ... or should I say the farest Galazy that scientist have been able to see is a little over 12 Billion light years away. They aren't saying that there isnt a galazy further away just that it's the most distant one that they have been able to identify. At this point scientist are saying that is the edge of the known universe.

Does anyone else believe that it is possilble that our known universe is just one of multiple ones that could have been spawned from multiple Big Bangs. Beyond the edge of our Universe ... it may even be 100 billion light years away there could be another Universe with it's on set of Billions and Billions of stars.

We can't rule out other universes but it's also worth noting that 'the observable universe' might only be a *very* tiny part of *this* universe that we live in. It's one idea that would explain why the observable universe looks pretty much the same wherever you look - because we're only seeing one little bit of it.

I'm convinced the universe is NOT what we think it is, anyway. I'm sure most scientists would agree.

What we think the universe is is a working hypothesis that scientists realize will have to be modified as we learn more. Just look at the changes in and new ideas of our concept of the Universe that have occurred in just the last 50 years.

It is certainly possible. But the idea is untestable, so no experiments can be done on it, or useful conclusions taken from it.

There is always the possibility. There is no way to know what is out there without finding it.

I think others have thought of that idea already. But how could you prove it? Without proof, it isn't science; it is just speculation.

That would be ... amazing.

Space would have to be infinite.

I'm sure many people have gone insane trying to think of these things. It's just something you have to admit that you'll never know. For sure, anyway.
