Of course it is. Why wouldnt it? If you are worried about the caffine intake, its not that big of a deal just as long as you dont drink 8 cups of coffee a day. But a bar of chocolate and a soda will not cause any kind of problems. Congrats on the pregnancy and God Bless

interesting question - yes it is. I'm 5 months pregnant with baby #2 and I LOOOOVE homemade hot chocolate (e-mail me if you want the recipe - it's to die for). You dont' have to worry about the caffeine content of the chocolate - my doctor always told me that as long as you're not like drinking six 20 oz bottles of Mt. Dew a day, you don't have to worry about the caffeine thing.

I would advise for organic milk chocolate. Regular milk is loaded with growth hormones, antibiotics and pesticides. Your baby really doesn't need those.
Also, I was craving milk while pregnant and I put on like 20 pounds in 2 weeks, so my OB/Gyn had me switch to 1% fat. He said that even 2% was too fatty and indeed I stopped blowing up as a cow (litteraly) after the switch to 1%.
I wouldn't worry about the caffeine from the chocolate as it's minimal and chocolate has a few "feel good" ingredients, like manganese, etc....
good luck!

Yes. Although a lot of people will tell you "NO CAFFEINE" while pregnant, they obviously have not read up on the recent studies that have proven that moderate caffeine intake during pregnancy is completely safe. 2-3, 8oz cups of regular strength coffee or up to 6 sodas are safe amounts, and I also received this info from every OB/GYN I have seen.

Yeah why wouldn't it be? The only thing I can think of is not having too much chocolate because it has caffeine in it and you want to be careful of how much caffeine you have. But in moderation it should be OK.

as long as it's normal hot chocolate then yes it's perfectly fine. Just don't "doctor" it up with anything.
