There have been times that during my babies nap, I pump. After I am done pumping he will then wake up early and want to eat more. Is he still getting milk After I pump? Or should I stop pumping at nap time? I am trying to build up my milk supply in the freezer because I will be gone from him for a while and I don't want him to use formula, but is he getting milk after I pump and he wants to eat then???

If you nurse him and he's satisfied, then he's getting enough. If he just continues to scream, then no, he isn't getting enough.

Yes, he's getting enough and if he wasn't, he would definitely let you know. All pumping will do is increase your milk supply. Your milk supply flows on demand so when you pump, your body is just thinking that your baby is demanding more. He may even have growth spurts and demand more on his own.. this usually happens at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months and then 6 months. Your body will produce accordingly. What I always do is squeeze and extract some milk when my baby is done eating just to see if it's still flowing. It always is.

If he was not getting any milk he would let you know. There is nothing more cranky than a hungry baby!

Unless he is fussy when trying to eat, I am sure he is getting milk. Breast feeding is hard work....good luck!
