My family computer has 1g of ddr2 ram in two sticks, i think. My office was throwing out some computers the other day and I pulled two 1g sticks of ddr out of one of the computers. I only have three slots in my computer. Will ddr2 and ddr work togeather? Whats the best configuration of the three chips for speed?

ddr will not fit in ddr 2 slots

DDR and DDR2 are not compatible. The DDR won't fit in the DDR2 Slot. Different designs completely. Sorry. Good Luck HTH.

No. DDR2 is a different type of RAM. DDR will not fit in a DDR2 slot.

Sorry But No... Not only do they work at different speeds. they use 2 different types of sockets. DDR is 184 pins and DDR2 is 240 pins.
