My Husband and I are visiting Philadelphia for a day in Christmas week and were wondering if there is anything we definately shouldn't miss. Thanks for your help in advance.

Oh wow! That's a great time to be in the City!

Go see the Revolutionary War Heroes houses in Fairmount Park. They'll be decorated for Christmas!

Go to the Ben Franklin museum. There's always a wonderful exhibit at that time of year.

Go ice skating outside at Rittenhouse Square.

At night, go to a play. Most Broadway plays stop in Philadelphia as the last place before heading to the Great White Way.

Go see the Philadelphia Symphony, which will be having its holiday concert.

Go to Sesame Street Place, which will be decked out for the holidays and you can talk to Bert, Ernie, Oscar and the whole bunch.

The Christmas light and organ show at Macy's, which used to be John Wanamaker's, is a must.

Otherwise, I'd visit a lot of the historic sights in Old City. If you only have a day, I'd do Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Mint, and the area between Ben Franklin's grave and Betsy Ross's house.

When I was little, my mom used to take me to Center City to see the Christmas light show at John Wannamaker's. I know that Wannamaker's has been out of business for 20-some years, but the building is still there and the last I heard, they still do the light show.

Also, check out the Kimmel Center or the Forest Theater...you may be able to catch a show.

Umm... Just look around when you get there or you could search online to see if anything special or exciting is going to be going on that day that you and your husband would like. Hope you have fun with whatever you guys decide to do.
