Of course! He knew that if he went to congress and told them NOT to pass the resolution condemning Turkey that they (congress) would do the opposite and pass the resolution thereby weakening our influence with the Turks so they would invade Northern Iraq.. Whew!

the Bush is in trouble because his "tough talk"
has alienated Turkey, one of Americas Former
and reliable friends. So what do we do.? We provoke them! We provoke Putin. Why? Bush keeps stirring up the Mideast because he didn't like Clinton's peace deal over there. He knows nothing of diplomacy.
It's not a Republican or a democratic question.
The question is can we survive as a country with these reckless policy's?
Bush isn't the only one. Bush and Chaney and the others who have resigned were not good choices in the first place. We have a guy who bilked old people out of life savings. So he is now the ambassador to the Netherlands??!!
Bush is in charge. So he gets the blame. You would have thought Clinton sold secret plans to Russia
the way people still go on about his stupid affair.
I'll take that over the billions lost, the soldiers lost, the prestige of the country lost, and the innocence of kids lost as they become more jaded
every time a new Bush blunder is revealed.
The people want someone with star like appeal, this is what they get. Anyone, I mean anyone would have been better in the oval office. Now we need to
come together and quit the dirt slinging. We need a presidnet of all the people. Not just the right, or his religion, or the army.

If you do the research you would find the Turks have been killing Kurds for years, and have been wanting to go in and kill them for a long time.
You have to ask yourself why is the US allies with Turkey a muslim country where over 70% of its people hate America, do not have freedom of speech, still stone women and do honor killings, have been turned down numerous times by the European Union for not admitting they comitted genocide?
US was allies with Hussein and Bin Laden, didnt we learn our lesson already.
Turkey is not our friend.
Arent we provoking the Iranian President when we say hes a Holocaust denier? Should we agree with him so we keep the peace?
I think theres something wrong with a country who comitted a genocide over 90 yrs ago, wont admit to it and then bullies the US because we want to recognize it and go in and kill more people. They are nuts.

Turkey has already been looking for a reason to invade the Kurds. Condemnation over a genocide they undeniably committed 90 years ago would only be a rationalization. This especially after most European countries have also recently condemned the genocide of the Armenians.

Very likely -- since Bush is directly responsible for the US presence in Iraq -- and since by Bush's own statements, he should be the only branch (person) dealing with foreign governments like Turkey.
So, logically, if he is the only one authorized to deal with Turkey, and if he is the Commander of US forces in Iraq, then anything Turkey does with regard to Iraq is something he should have dealt with..... right?

I am not going to take sides here, but I was thinking that maybe the Democrats are doing this as a tactic to get the troops out. We know that Turkey has allowed us to use their territory to resupply and whatever else our military needed.
To be honest, most Americans (Including myself) had no idea about what happened to the Armenians during the Ottoman empire. Why would Congress dig something up like this and stick it in the eye of our ally? On top of that, it is a non binding resolution. The only reason for us to do this is to piss someone off. I truly believe the Dems are doing this to piss Turkey off and give them a reason to stop helping us. It gets Turkey off the hook from helping us and it will make our mission in Iraq more difficult to accomplish. Maybe the Dems think it will make the troops come home sooner.

No, it will be the fault of the turks, who are to europe what the mexicans are to us.
If they want to start problems, I'm sure Bushy has a bomb for them to.
If that is their choice, they are only looking for an excuse to do so anyway.
The idiots should just acknowledge the bad spot in their history and move on.
