It depends on what kind of truth and what kind of lie!
When the truth is hard to take it's usually because its true and the person will often know it on some level.
Same can be true for a lie, but the kind of lie that hurts is a deceiving lie because it's really intentional.
If some one lies or tells the truth for that matter, with good intentions, it can still be hurtful but one can actually understand once they get over the shock or pain and maybe even forgive. Some lies stem from fear too, so you have to learn to take some of these things with a grain of salt and recognize that it's human nature to some.

I know they can both hurt, but I think the truth would hurt more if it's not something good. A lie you can disprove, but the truth is the truth. You have to look at the truth and know it's not good. You know it's true and can't even argue it.

The truth hurts...But a Lie hurts 100 times worse when it comes out. Best to grow a set of balls and let the cards land wherever they may fall. You never have to lie if you never do anything wrong.

A lie hurts more. It could be hard at times but I would prefer to deal with the truth. You have to respect it. It is what it is. No fine print and straight up.

The truth can hurt but it is usually constructive but a lie can be nothing more than destructive for the person who tells it and the unfortunate one who is an object of the truth or an innocent third person bystander.

Well, it depends...the truth can hurt on the spot, and you may not ever allow yourself to heal from it. A lie will usually come out and eventually hurt you anyway. I prefer the truth, so I can move on and let time heal my pain.
