1. Ohio State- Too good and too many weapons. They play in probably the best conference in the nation.
2. USF- Powerful Team, but not as good as OSU. They probably have the best Sophomore QB in the league in Matt Grothe.
3. Oklahoma- Best Big 12 Team and like you said, probably the best RB in the league with Adrian Peterson.
4.LSU- Best Defense in NCAA. That loss to Kentucky was just a stop on 4th down.
5. West Virginia- Best QB in the Big East (Pat White). Great RB(Steve Slaton). Good Team

It's tough... there are so many good teams that are just losing to other good teams. They look bad in the rankings, but I think most of the top 15 or so teams could all beat each other. I like your rankings, but i would replace USF with USC (at #5... shift everyone else up 1). Don't get me wrong, USF is a great team this year, an unbelievable team. I am just looking at it as a series of matchups. As terrible as USC has looked, I think they would beat USF. But USF could beat them too. Hell. Put USF at #5, and shift everyone else up. That's my poll.

Hey Mark P , Adrian Peterson is no longer at Oklahoma, but we still have the best stable of running backs in the country even with Peterson in the NFL, and he could argueably be the best there to.

1) South Florida - all-around good team, beat 2 ranked opponents
2) Ohio State - Weak schedule, but crushing opponents
3) Boston College - Very solid undefeated team
4) Oklahoma - might be the best team in the country, but lost focus against Colorado
5) LSU - great team, but absolutely no excuse for losing against Kentucky.
LSU is a good team, but they might have cost themselves a title shot to losing against a team they were supposed to destroy.

Wow, tough question. Lots of putative top five teams have been whupped already this season.
But I can guarantee that MY alma mater will not be on the list of top five college football programs, even in the Division III league they play in!

Let's have a playoff system and find out for sure!!! Ohio State needs to be up there. I can't see OU after losing to CU.
Your list is as good as the BCS, at least it has some logic to it!
