I think Palestine will fail. Even if the Palestinians themselves were tired of casulties from generations long and wanted peace, the rest of the Arab world prefers Palestine as a festering sore in Israels side. It's why syria and it's neighbors haven't helped out the refugees, helped them resettle.

i think if given proper help from the world community Palestine would prosper, as long as proper investment goes into building education and the economy. It can only get better for the people of Palestine if they are finally allowed to have their own country

Palestine is embroiled in a civil war between the Hamas and Fatah factions. They need to resolve their infighting issues, before proper statehood can be achieved.

Not ever having had a 'formal economy', and the little 'informal economic activity' they had completely destroyed by Israel, Palestine is doomed to failure.
Not only is the US going to have to prop up the Palestinian 'state', but, added to the huge sums of money given to Israel and Egypt to be 'friends', the poor American tax-payer is going to have to pay for it for decades to come.
Blindly supporting Israel for decades has a huge price, doesn't it?
Was it worth it?

Fail. The rest of the Arab world wants nothing to do with Palestinians.
Once they get what they want and are no longer the focus of international concerns or the press they won't get a nickle.
The US will have to support them, as usual.
