Better question, who's gonna stop him? If Tom Brady was "all about his ego", I'd say 'he'll destroy Mannings record', but I think Brady is about wins. It's very likely he'll get the record, the same as Manning got it from Marino. Peyton could have had it weeks before he got it, but winning was more important. The fact everyone knew he could get it anytime he wanted it was probably just as gratifying. Brady & Manning may swap that record back,& fourth a few times before they retire, neither one is anywhere near "over-the-hill". It should be fun to watch, and THAT'S why WE watch.

Brady is at 21 TD passes after 6 games and the record is 49 TD passes after 16 games. So he'll need 29 more for the remaining 10 games, or 2.9 TD per game. Or look at it that he's on par to throw 56 TD's this season. Since the Patriots "pass-to-setup-the-run" and their RB, Maroney is out, barring injuries and even though the OL allowed 3 sacks, he still threw 5 TD's against Dallas. Or if Belicheck changes the offensive scheme (less likely then the Rams or Miami making the playoffs). He'll beat the record. Only an acute injury would stop him.
For Pats fans, hopefully, he'll throw 5 more again against Indy on Nov. 4.

He probably will. I so hope he doesn't. Anyways. Just look at yesterday... They kept throwing with a huge lead. The Patriots are the kind of team that loves running up the score and making another team look bad. So yeah, he will get his little record. However! Don't count Peyton out just yet.

Brady is a whining child. He couldn't hold Peyton Mannings bedpan.
Unless Peyton retires today, Brady will always be the wannabe.

I doubt it. They don't need him to do it, so he won't. The Colts needed Manning to do it because of the poor Colts defense that year.
Also, the Patriots face the #2, 3, 5, 6 (twice), 9 and 12 ranked pass defenses in the next ten games.
The best pass defense they've faced so far is #24 - the Cowboys.

Yes...I'll be looking for cheap shots on Brady from the Colts in week 9 in an attempt to take him out to preserve Peytons precious record...

if the league continues its excessive protection of brady (re: not calling offensive holding against the patriots), then yes, tom brady will absolutely smash peyton mannings record.

If he keeps throwing 3 per game he will. Barring serious injury to key personel i think he'll break it, they'll win another superbowl, but most of all I think they'll go undefeated. Then we will never have to see those stupidass old dolphin players funneling champagne down their gullets again!
