If you eat a little something for breakfast you are less likely to feel sick later and therefore be able to eat more. If you are not eating enough you will not gain enough weight which causes a huge problem for your baby and for you. It will also cause your blood sugar to drop which can be dangerous for you both. Try to eat something even if it's not much.

I started my daughter on rice cereal when she was a little over 4.5 months old. She loved it! I didn't put it in her bottle because I don't see the reasoning behind that. She ate it with a spoon, and did pretty well for her first try. Everything that has to do with parenting is trial and error. What works for some babies, doesn't for others. I would never force my child to eat something she wasn't ready for. If she hadn't been interested, I would have put it up, and waited a few more weeks. As for negatively effected, the only thing bad that would happen, would be what will happen no matter what age you start them. They could get a bit constipated, or love it so much that they don't want breastmilk/formula. I didn't consistently give her solids until closer to 6 months. Then it jumped up to twice aday. At 9 months she began having three solid meals a day. Ultimately, it is your decision as to when to start those solid feedings. And don't let others make you feel bad if you decide to start cereal a little early.

From 8 weeks, until about 17 weeks pregnant I was SO sick that I could keep maybe one out of three meals down, maybe. I'm not telling you not to eat breakfast and lunch. Just a thought...
Its been my experience that I only feel sick after I work out if I push my cardio and/or weight lifting really hard, so maybe relax a little bit so that you can eat after you work out.
I still battle with "morning sickness" and keeping food down, what I've found works best is to eat several small meals throughout the day rather than three larger ones. You may want to try that.

I do not eat breakfast because I feel sick when I get up, so I snack on chips or crackers until lunch. It is NOT healthy to eat hardly any. You need your energy and the nutrients for the baby. If you can't eat after leaving the gym, cool off first & have a late lunch!!!!!

I would say that you don't have to eat both,,,but at least one,,,and make it light if you feel like the food will make you sick. I hardly ate the whole first 3 months of being pregnant because I stayed so sick. In fact I lost 10 lbs. The baby will DEF. get what it needs so don't worry about hurting the baby by not eating. Trust me, you will eat if you get hungry. Your body will let you know when it's time to eat. I promise. Just try and stay hydrated with water, gatorade, milk,,,liquids other than sugar products 24/7.

Unless you are starving yourself intentionally, which it doesn't sound like you are, the baby will be fine. Babies take everything they need from your body while they are developing, despite what you eat. If you cant eat very much I would recommend trying to eat very healthfully when you do eat to at least keep yourself healthy - aka lots of protein (which will give you more energy), fruits, veggies, etc. Also its been my experience that if i wait to long to eat that i get very nauseous, so maybe even when your feeling sick you could try eating something bland like toast and maybe it will calm your stomach.... And one last thing - it is normal for women to lose a little weight at first in their pregnancy, probably b/c of the same thing you are struggling with, but its nothing to worry about :)
good luck with your pregnancy!

You need to eat when you are pregnant. Even if you don't really want to. As long as you are taking your prenatal vitamins, your baby will be getting what he/she needs. It is your health that will suffer. I also found that if I ate several small meals I didn't feel nauseous during my pregnancy At least eat something like a cereal bar or a piece of fruit. Talk to your doctor about what you should be eating during pregnancy. You need more calories than you did before and you also need to drink plenty of water.

It is okay to skip breakfast as long as you are not feeling hungry, but you should eat once you get hungry because it is not just you that is hungry your baby can not eat unless you do. I would not skip lunch also the baby can not grow with out food. It might be better to skip lunch if thats when you feel sick. Go ahead and eat breakfast and skip lunch, but keep a cereal bar on you for in the event you get hungry.

Your body will give your baby what it needs, even if it has to steal from itself if you are not ingesting enough nutrients and calories. So, the question really is : Does it affect you when you don't eat and are pregnant?
Yes. So make sure what you are putting in is good for you. Fruits, veggies, protein. Doesn't matter when you eat, just that you do eat. Also, get a good prenatal vitamin. You don't want your body to leach nutrients from your body that you need too.

at 10 weeks your baby can get all its nutrients from your natural fat stores. But you need to try and eat something when you can, even if its just juice or crackers. As long as you are taking your prenatals you are fine for now, but your need for food will increase soon. Hopefully your morning sickness will abate in the 2nd trimester.
