What are two reasons why membranes must separate the inside from the outside of a cell??? can't find it nowhere!!!

it protect the DNA content of the cell. If it was absent substances will enter the cell and may cause mutation
It prevent the mixing of substances between the inside and outside of the cell

Because everything that makes the cell work is inside of the cell. It's not unlike why you have skin. If I rip off your skin you'll bleed out and die. If I remove the membrane of a cell, it'll die.

Have you read the section talking about biological membranes in your textbook? I'm guessing you'll find the answer there.
