im 37wks babies head is engaged but i keep getting a scratching feeling down low inside like on my cervix what could it be.

Could be that your body is adjusting and stretching to get ready for birth.
It is gets painful, make sure to mention it to your doc.... but you're almost done.

I'm 32 weeks, but at 30 weeks, I went to the hospital with this feeling (I am a worried first time mama!), and when the nurse kept asking me to describe it, I finally told her "It feels like a squirrel scratching on my cervix!!!". After an u/s, and a workup, they finally concluded my little man had the hiccups. It wasn't painful persay... just very uncomfortable!

Your baby is probably scratching with his/her fingernails. At that far along, the kid's probably turned upside down and dropped (or is getting ready to). And they have little fully-formed fingernails and nothing to keep them occupied in there, so sometimes you get little scratchy fingernails going on. Ouch! Only a little while longer now. Good luck.

Well it maybe any of the simple and unhazardous things that were mentioned here. However you need to talk to your doctor because, he/she will need to go in and check for sure. My midwife always told me if it makes me uncomfortable and i get worried in any way, I should ask about it. If it is something that is common and not dangerous for either of you then you will be releved to hear it from your doctor. If it is something else you will be glad you were able to catch it before it harmed you or your baby.

It could be your baby scratching, I know that sounds crazy. But my doc told me to be aware that the babies as soon as they are born need their nails trimmed. So he/she could be scratching you as he/she moves arounnd or just moves their hand.

its the cervex ripening and getting ready for delivery. It feels weird, to me it felt like the baby was trying to push his fingers in my cervex and pry it open!! I can really hurt sometimes, but its normal.

It could be the baby's hand. My sisters first child was born with his hand out first above his head. Call him superman!

Baby will sometimes grab the umbical cord and strctech it and its weird feeling.
